Nogales is a city in Arizona named after the walnut trees that are found all over the area (its name is actually Spanish for walnuts). According to an official US Census Bureau estimate conducted in 2006 the population of the city is only 20,000. Nogales is the county seat of Santa Cruz county and is currently Arizona’s largest international border town.

Nogales was first founded as Isaacson in 1880; it was named after Jacob Isaacson, who founded the town. Isaacson established a post office not long after he founded the area, though by 1883 the name had been changed to Nogales. The city today is known for its agriculture, with most of the economy based around farming.
